Full transparency
We're a lead company. Here's the whole model.
Most referral sites hide how they make money — that's exactly why nobody trusts them. So here's ours, with real numbers, and what you actually get for it: real money back, and a pro you don't have to vet yourself.
The two problems we're built on
Problem one: the money. Carpet companies spend heavily to find customers — ads, lead sites that charge $50–$150 per phone number (closed job or not), commissioned salespeople. All of it is baked into the price you pay. The marketing money is already in every carpet invoice in Utah; it's just going to ad platforms instead of to you.
Problem two: the gamble. Even after paying all that, finding a pro you can trust is still on you — hours of review-stalking strangers with no real recourse if it goes wrong. Hiring well is genuine work. Today the homeowner does it alone, unpaid, once. We do it professionally, across every job we send, and we keep score.
Our deal, both sides of it
- 1.With our pros: we send them ready-to-book customers free. To get them, they pass our vetting, accept a customer rating after every job, and commit in writing to their standard rates — no markup to cover our fee. They pay us only when a job closes: 30% of a cleaning invoice, 15% of an install.
- 2.With you: book through our match, tell us when the job's done, and we send you 20% of a cleaning invoice or 10% of an install. Most of the fee goes straight back to you; we keep the difference. That's our entire revenue.
Concrete example — $4,000 install
- → You pay your pro $4,000, directly, at their standard rate.
- → The pro pays us $600 (15%).
- → We send you $400 within 14 days of confirmed completion.
- → We keep $200. Everyone's square. (Cleaning: 30% fee, 20% to you — no materials in the way, so everything is bigger.)
What the part we keep actually pays for
It isn't a finder's fee for a phone number. It pays for us to carry the part of hiring you'd otherwise carry yourself:
- ✓Vetting before you ever see them — licenses, insurance, real references, real past jobs. Not star counts.
- ✓Monitoring after every job — you rate the pro through us each time, and we audit every invoice against the estimate.
- ✓Consequences with teeth — bad work or padded prices gets a pro dropped, and they can't pay their way back in. An angry one-star review is a shrug; losing a lead pipeline is not.
"So why wouldn't the pro just raise the price to cover the fee?"
- ✓Rate commitments in writing. Our partner agreement locks each pro to the standard rates they quote anyone who calls them directly.
- ✓You audit every job. When you claim your rebate we ask your invoice total — inflated pricing shows up immediately, and that pro loses the program.
- ✓You can check us. Get a competing quote anytime. Our pros' pricing has to survive comparison shopping or this whole model dies — we're betting the business on it.
Who can contact you
When you submit a request, two parties may call or text you: CarpetBack, and the single vetted pro we match to your job. That's the whole list. No spray-and-pray lead lists, no five companies blowing up your phone — we never sell your information to anyone.
